About Stacy

Stacy DeSoto is a Realtor/Broker who lives in Franklin, TN, with her husband, Steve, who is also in real estate, on the commercial side, and her two darling daughters, Reagan and Riley.

Stacy grew up in various parts of the country (her father was a Secret Service agent in charge of protecting President Reagan!) and has lived and worked in Nashville and Franklin for the past 9 years.

An athlete by nature, Stacy skis the Rockies in the winter and enjoys wake boarding in the summer.  She played tennis in college atMiddle Tennessee State University and now running marathons is a year round passion. She is a woman with a devotion to God and is a member of the Fourth Avenue Church of Christ.

Other than my general awesomeness (kidding, of course!), I bring a unique combination of talents and skills to every home sale or purchase. I am fairly tight with a number of developers and builders in the area and I also work with real estate investors regularly. I use the insights and “inside information” I gain from these associations to my client’s advantage.  Knowing what’s truly going on in an area or neighborhoods — what’s coming, what’s going, what’s trending, what’s on the drawing table, what’s going on with certain schools, etc — allows me to better advise and guide you through the home buying or selling process. It also enables me to negotiate on your behalf more effectively and efficiently.

Why do I need a realtor when I can just find a house on the internet?

Excellent question. I encourage clients and potential clients to search the Zillows and Trulias. That way, we can spend more time investigating the “homes and ‘hoods” you have a clear preference for.

But there are many things you can’t possibly learn about a house or a neighborhood on the web. I like to say, “I start where the internet stops.” I make it my business to bring you “inside information” — to know what is happening with a neighborhood or an area. To learn about any of the “gotchas” before they “getcha.”

With so much information readily available, many people start by looking on the internet and comparing prices. However, even smart searchers can quickly become overwhelmed with the process of personally looking at all of the available houses and wading through tons of information.

Others who have the perseverance to look through all the information and visit many of the houses find themselves worrying about the quality of what they see.

  • What repairs has the home owner hidden with plaster and paint?
  • Did the buyer of the house one block away get an exceptional deal, or were there special circumstances involved in that sale?
  • When it comes time to negotiate a deal, how will all of these facts affect how much I should offer on the property I am interested in?

So while a search on Zillow can provide valuable information, there is also a lot of missing wisdom about the neighborhood and schools, the housing stock, and the houses themselves.
